Our Verdict
At 203 g (Medium), the Fortes Nano Insulated Pull-On uses 40 g/m² of PrimaLoft Gold Active Vent insulation, providing warmth while allowing heat to escape during exertion. The Barrier Tough 12D nylon outer adds wind resistance and light weather protection, finished with a PFAS-free DWR. Montane’s air-permeable liner helps manage moisture effectively when working hard.
The trim, articulated fit offers excellent mobility, and the self-sealing cuffs work neatly with gloves. A half-length zip allows quick venting, while the high chest pocket remains accessible when wearing a pack or harness.
Warmth is well judged for moving fast in cold conditions, and the mapped insulation prevents overheating under the arms. The build feels solid for such a light piece, though the fine fabric benefits from care on abrasive terrain. For fast, cold-weather activity where breathability and freedom of movement matter, the Fortes Nano is an excellent choice.
