Our Verdict
An adjustable and versatile tent, the ten can be configured in many ways, for a light and breezy pitch with lots of ventilation, or the tent can be “battened down” to protect you from the worst the weather can throw at you.
As you would expect from anything in the Copper Spur family, the setup is easy and intuitive, though it is an inner pitch first, if that’s something you have concerns about. A fly vent opening at the top helps prevent condensation, and the guy out points located, low at the foot and the head end of the tent promote better airflow, again reducing condensation. Dual, equalized Dyneema guylines have been designed to evenly spread pressure caused by high winds which gives a very stable pitch.
Big Agnes has really put a lot of thought into how user-friendly this tent is, specifically for use in winter. Large oversized, glove-friendly toggles, large buckles, and Quick Stash doorkeepers have all been designed to use one-handed and with gloves on.
The two huge vestibules provide ample storage for you and a partner’s gear. The interior of the tent really feels spacious, and I never felt claustrophobic. For context, I'm 6.1 foot and had plenty of space to lounge around and sit up which is rare in a 2-man, 4-season tent. Inside the tent, 2 large mesh “windows” on the doors can be rolled back to increase airflow if you wish, a mesh window, located in the ceiling also aids in air flow if unzipped, but I found it good as an additional gear pocket.

Construction & Materials
- Fly is Dominico® undyed polyester ripstop made with high tenacity yarns which increase tear strength by 20-25% over standard nylon or polyester ripstop fabrics. Also provides high UV resistance and stability during temperature and moisture fluctuations, allowing for a solid and stable pitched tent
- Fly is silicone-treated with 1200mm waterproof polyurethane coating plus an additional coating on the face of the fabric to increase tear strength and UV resistance
- Floor is nylon taffeta with a 10,000mm waterproof polyurethane coating
- Tent body is nylon ripstop breathable and polyester mesh
- The material uses a unique pigment dye coloring process that resists fading and increases UV resistance; extending the longevity of the fabric when used in high altitude conditions.
