The Helinox Chair Two Ultralight, High-Back, Collapsible Camping Chair provides all-day comfort, has a tall back for added support, an adjustable headrest design, and side pockets for your smartphone, snacks, and sunglasses. It weighs about as much as a bottle of wine and packs down smaller than a loaf of bread. Strong and light, the heart of its innovative design is a frame made from a proprietary DAC aluminium alloy delivering a maximum strength-to-weight ratio that comfortably holds up to 145kg. Built to handle harsh sun and bad weather, the removable chair seat and zippered carrying case are made from durable, UV-resistant, 600-weave, ripstop polyester that is machine washable for easy care. Setup is easy. An internal bungee cord snaps the frame into place, and reinforced sleeves make attaching the seat simple. Chair Two measures 55W x 61D x 85H cm, with a seat height of 24cm and weighs 1.3kg. Packed, it measures just 46 x 12 x 13 cm in its included zippered stuff sack.
Our Verdict
The chair 2 offers a support and comfort upgrade from its compact cousin the chair one. Made with durable DAC aluminium alloy poles, the same you see in high-end tents and trekking poles, you know you are getting a quality product that’s maximum strength and minimal weight. The strong nylon has been strategically placed so that this takes all of your weight, and the mesh backing can allow air to circulate, so you don’t get too hot, however, on chilly days you could attach the Reversible Seat Warmer for Chair Two which you can find here.
The tall backing of the chair allows you to lean back much more than the chair one which is fantastic after a long day hiking. You can use the stuff sack as a pillow, you could stash a fleece or something soft in it, and that just adds to the overall comfort of the chair. The 2 pockets are within easy reach and good for stashing things you want close at hand, like a phone or sunglasses.
