Our Verdict
This is a neat bit of kit. As ultralight packs continue to strip back features in favour of weight savings, ventilation is often one of the first things to go. The Back Air Mesh Pad gives you the option to add airflow back in, creating a small but noticeable gap between your pack and your back to reduce sweat build-up and improve overall comfort.
Made from poly monofilament mesh and UHMWPE X-grid, the structure maintains shape well and doesn’t compress flat under load. The soft-edge binding avoids irritation, and the supplied bungee cords and cord locks make installation quick on most lightweight packs. At around 80g (small), it's a low-effort solution that noticeably improves comfort on warm climbs or humid trail days without interfering with pack fit or stability.
