The Alpaca duffel was designed with a water-resistant TPU coating and recycled polyester ripstop for hardcore durability. Each duffel has a large, expandable zippered end pocket for separating dirty shoes and gear, and are packaged in
convenient, reusable packing cubes. The design features an abrasion-resistant bottom from the added layer of foam, removable shoulder straps with an easy-to- use buckle attachment, an interior zippered mesh pocket, oversized T-Grip zipper pullers, and a padded handle wrap with a fiberglass reinforcement rod.
Our Verdict
Built to take a beating, the Alpaca 100L feels purpose-made for long journeys and gear-heavy adventures. Its combination of durability, weather resistance and thoughtful organisation gives it real reliability for travel, and gear hauling.
The 900D TPU-coated recycled ripstop fabric feels extremely robust, shrugging off abrasion and light rain, while the padded base adds reassurance when setting it down on rough ground. The large U-shaped zip makes packing simple, and the internal layout is excellent: a separate dirty-gear compartment, mesh pockets for smaller kit/gear you need close at hand, and daisy chains for attaching extra items externally. The reinforced handles and removable shoulder straps give good carry flexibility, though the backpack setup is best for short hauls rather than prolonged treks.
At 1603g, it’s substantial but not excessive for a 100-litre duffel. Build quality is consistently high. The Alpaca 100L combines toughness, sensible detailing, and impressive pack volume in a well-engineered package.
