Depending on the outside temperature and level of exertion, you can wear it as a base or mid layer. It is made from very lightweight Polartec® Power Grid™ material, which keeps you warm, is elasticated and has a waffle structure on the inside that efficiently wicks moisture to the outside. The hood is close-fitting thanks to an elasticated border and sits perfectly under a helmet. Flat seams reduce unpleasant pressure points and make the jacket feel very comfortable. Our Verdict
This is an incredibly light (200g based on UK size medium) and super breathable hoodie. This is a fair-weather top, for use when you’re hiking, bouldering, or climbing, then stop and don’t want to lose your body heat. Great to have close to hand for any change in temperature and it packs down so small, that it can easily be stashed in the top of a rucksack
It’s an athletic cut, which fits very nicely over a base layer, has a good amount of stretch, and wont blow about in the wind. The hood is a snug fit, that will easily fit under a helmet, the cuffs and hem are both elasticated, but have no way to tighten or loosen. Has one chest pocket, which isn’t very roomy but big enough for keys.
Could be used just as a base layer, but I think it will get most of its use as a thin mid-layer, would also be good to sleep in on chilly summer nights.
