The Women’s Superflux Hoody is a versatile mid-weight technical fleece with a range of year-round mountain applications. It is built from ultra-practical Thermic™ stretch fleece, with integrated elastane for outstanding flexibility on energetic climbs. The sleek, active cut is coupled with smooth flatlock seams to make movement as easy as possible when used between layers during cold-weather sport. Additional features include a brushed grid backer to improve durability and comfort when worn directly against the skin. They also include a large bonded chest pocket with YKK VISLON® zip and a pair of discreet handwarmer pockets that are easy to access when wearing a climbing harness.
With its snug under-helmet hood, soft-touch chin guard and layer-friendly thumb loops, our new Women’s Superflux Hoody is more comfortable and versatile than ever before.
Our Verdict
Rab's 2020 Womens Superflux Hoody is a versatile piece, as it can be comfortable worn as a mid layer in cold temperatures or as an outer layer on warmer days. The technical Thermic fleece fabric provides a good amount of warmth with effective moisture management. It uses different textures on the inside and outside to achieve this. The outer has a smooth durable surface and the inside has a grid pattern which provides warmth without compromising breathability.
This updated version includes two slimline hand warmer pockets and an enlarged chest pocket making it a more practical top to use. The slim fit is designed to keep it comfortable and unobtrusive under multiple layers whilst flatlock seams reduce chafing. It features an under helmet hood which has a stretch binding keeping it secured around your head to minimise heat loss. The sleeves have separate cuffs complete with thumb loops so you can ensure the sleeves stay under your gloves and your wrists don't get cold.
