Our Verdict
The Ribelle Run GTX has been designed by Scarpa to offer a very light weight shoe that will keep you dry on even the most technical trail.
The fit of the Ribelle is a lower volume Sock-Fit construction so makes it feel quite snug on the foot to prevent any unwanted foot movement, and this can also be adjusted further with the fast lace system, or be changed to normal laces.
The upper of the shoe offers a really lightweight feeling material but is actually very abrasion resistant so can cope with whatever steeper trails through at you. The addition of a Gore-Tex liner means that your feet will stay dry when the weather turns bad but in combination with the thinner upper makes then quite breathable and lack of breathability can often be an issue with most Gore-Tex running shoes.
The PRESA sole on the Ribelle is thinner than most trail shoes, allowing it to offer a higher level of grip and flexibility and still be very comfortable, but it means that it is certainly a shoe for short to medium trails rather than long training runs.

- Fit: The shoe is built to wrap the foot with precision thanks to it’s reduced volume fit, perfect for this more technically oriented shoe. The heel is stabilized by an EVA band that completely wraps the shoe.
- Upper: The upper is built with SCARPA’s Sock-Fit LW construction, featuring a lightweight and super breathable mesh bootie with heat-sealed reinforcements, which guarantees a precise and even wrap around the foot, while still providing outstanding comfort and flex at the ankle collar, tongue and forefoot.
- Sole: PRESA® sole made with high performance Supergum outsole, with 4mm lugs and excellent grip on both dry and wet surfaces. Tested by the best and brought to the limit on technical and uneven terrain.
