Our Verdict
Montane's Protium XPD Hoodie, is one of their top end midlayers that combines the Polartec Thermal Pro material to create a very warm layer for its low weight. Using the Thermo Grid under the arms and down the side make this perform really well at wicking away moisture, as well as allowing for a very good range of movement.
The Protium is a nice close fit that hugs well to the body but due to the stretch there no restriction, the Polartec fleece is very, very comfortable and definitely something I would want to reach to if I was getting a bit chilly. the overall fit makes it a go to for those wanting to perform at a high level in cold conditions or even as a just as comfortable casual layer over winter. Two front pockets, a chest pocket, as well as a stretchy close fitting hood complete the features.
