Our Verdict
The Polaron XT Down Hoodie combines 268 g (Medium) of 750-fill-power RENU ExpeDRY recycled down with a windproof 30D Pertex Quantum shell for dependable insulation in cold conditions. The extended cut provides noticeably more coverage than most down jackets. The UK 12, the hem reached to the knees, making it better suited for static use or low-intensity activities such as camp wear, short hikes, or watching outdoor events in cold weather.
Two hand-warming pockets sit behind the down for maximum insulation, complemented by a single internal zipped pocket for smaller items. The cuffs are elasticated and work well with gloves, while the lack of hem adjustment keeps the design simple but limits fine-tuning in windy conditions. The hood adjusts around the face but cannot be cinched when the jacket is fully zipped, which feels like an oversight.
Warmth and comfort are excellent, the materials are top quality, and the longer design gives it a distinctive niche among down hoodies. For static warmth and casual cold-weather use, the Polaron XT is a reliable, thoughtfully built piece.

Material & Construction
- PERTEX QUANTUM A 30 Denier recycled nylon ripstop, downproof and windproof through a tightly woven structure and calendar process. Utilised for it's durability and it's ability to protect the insulation's warmth and loft. A PFC/PFAS Free durable water repellent (DWR) finish sheds light rain and snow to provide additional weather protection
- RENU ExpeDRY 85/15 recycled down at 750+ fill power (268g Size 12). ExpeDRY works through a permanent and chemical-free bonding of gold particles to the down cluster which aid in the evaporation of water molecules, causing the down to dry faster and stay dry in high humidity and extreme conditions.
- PEAQ Lightweight recycled nylon plain woven fabric with a PFC/PFAS Free DWR.
