The Nitro 800 is a lightweight, warm bag designed around the traditional mummy bag but with a few unique features that make Sierra Designs bags stand out. Great value for a bag with this much going on.

Our Verdict
Sierra Design's Womens Nitro 800 20 Degree Down Sleeping Bag is a traditional style mummy bag that is lightweight, warm and has a couple of extra features that make it stand out from the crowd. The baffle design allows the down to loft really well and a decent half length zip makes for easy access. There is a really effective draught collar that hugs your shoulders to keep the heat in and the cold out.
The most unique feature is the self sealing foot vent. I get hot feet so restrictive mummy bags are often uncomfortable due to feet that are overheating. On the Nitro you can easily slide your feet out of the vent on the bottom to cool off or just let air in. Due to the placement of the vent and the overlapping materials, as soon as your feet are inside there no chance of cold air getting in or your feet accidentally getting out. An ingenious design feature.
This version has 418g of 800 Fill Power DriDown that has a -2°C Comfort Limit so its good for two to three season use, particularly if you're a warm sleeper. The fabrics used are 15D so they are lightweight but also more than many of the lightest bags out there. The dimensions of the bag are more generous than most traditional mummy designs. The overall weight is really impressive given all the features too.
