The Voss Tech is a strong, lightweight tarp that has been designed to be super versatile. Whether you need a simple tarp for shelter, a hammock with roof or in emergency situations a poncho or even stretcher, this is the one for you.

The two enclosed hammock slings make setup quick and easy and with the included carabiners you have everything you need for a myriad of different setups. Apart from the newly added accessories, major updates to the Voss Tech include an integrated poncho hood, that doubles as a hammock sidepocket when stoved away and an ingenious hammock conversion system, where you simply pull the corner webbings to form a perfectly balanced hammock. And then you simply fold over the other part of the tarp to create a roof, large enough to cover and protect you from the elements while you rest. Extra pull slings for a great double layer hammock are also included.
If an emergency occurs, use the Voss Tech as an emergency stretcher with six string carry handles and load capacity of at least 500 kg. If you get caught in a storm, the Vosss Tech converts to a mini tent with a zipped entrance in seconds, using simply a walking stick or a branch from the ground and 4 pegs.. The Voss Tech SI is lightweight, durable, made from strong rip-stop nylon and offers endless pitching possibilities based on multiple webbing loops, all Nordisk Helmet Slide ready. Not only will it make you look and feel like the king of outdoor, it is the universal solution to any desire and situation you may come across in the wild.
Our Verdict
Nordisk's Voss Tech SI Tarp is a really interesting concept building on the simple tarp. Along with being a seemingly standard, rectangular tarp that provides shelter this tarp can be set up in a tarp tent style to provide that added protection or privacy. It also comes with a few interesting alternatives for using it which includes setting it up as a hammock with or without a roof, wearing it as a poncho, although I would seriously question how well this would work with a 2.2x2.6m rectangular shape, and finally as a carry bag or stretcher. The tarp has a set of seriously reinforced handles which allow these additional uses. Other than in rare emergency situations the poncho and stretcher are going to be rarely used examples.
The Voss Tech is the only tarp in the Voss range without guy ropes which is a bit of a shame but it is easy enough to add your own. It is named SI which means that it is nylon treated with silicone on both sides. This type of material and treatment is much lighter and stronger than the PU treated alternatives.
