Our Verdict
Evaporative heat loss is the chill caused by moisture transforming from a liquid to a vapor. You have undoubtedly felt the cooling of wet skin as evaporation occurs. Similarly, you should always change from sweaty clothing to clean, dry clothing when getting into a sleeping bag.
In extreme cold conditions, RAB VB socks can form part of a vapour barrier system or simply act to to keep your feet warm. They can limit the cooling caused by evaporative heat loss and reduce the water needed to stay hydrated, but may feel clammy at warmer temperatures.
