Perfect for trekking, long-distance hiking, mountain touring and bivouacs. For all those who are looking for a lightweight sleeping bag with the widest possible range of use. With the Ultra -5°, the pack weight can be reduced to an absolute minimum.
The filling of finest, RDS-certified goose down with 850+ cuin fill power gives it an excellent, uniform thermal performance. The circumferential, I-beam down baffles allow the down to be shifted as needed, adapting the sleeping bag to the given outside temperature and the sleeping mat being used.
However, the focus of the Ultra series is not only on the filling, Exped also employs only the finest of the finest when it comes to manufacturing. Pertex Quantum is applied as the shell fabric, which is made entirely of recycled polyamide. Components such as the zipper and webbing are made of recycled PET bottles.
The Ultra sleeping bag features the intricately designed, comfortable 3D triangle footbox, and the zipper flap prevents unpleasant cold spots. The adjustable elliptical draft collar nestles around the neck, minimizing draft and heat loss.

Exped's Ultra -5° Down Sleeping Bag is new to our range and follows in a long line of top quality Exped proucts, with a high level of inovation and a focus on quality materials to create something that is lightweight and will last.
The Ultra -5° is filled with a high quality 850 down that offers a high level of warmth due to the way that is distributed across the bad in the H baffles that prevent the down from clumping or being displaced from the sides keeping a very even level of warmth throughout the whole bag.
There are quite a few different features on the Ultra such as the hood that has a very good range of adjustment, that allows a close fit with a neck guard that keeps maximum heat in, or a more relaxed fit to get a pillow in. There are poppers inside the top of the bag that again help you create a good seal to stop heat loss. There is a reversable zip pull so you can get in and out of the bag easily, or open it up to get some more ventilation. However, you do need to remember to flip the pull inside or it gets a bit fiddly to flip it round when inside. The inner pocket on the top section of the bag, makes a handy spot to keep a mobile or wallet for extra protection.
Inside the bag there is a good amount of room across the shoulders for a mummy bag and the waist isn't too restrictive so you can move about inside, but there are not too many potential cold spot areas. I certainly felt warm pretty quickly in this bag and stayed warm.
The Ultra comes with a dry bag for storage which means that you can protect it from any potential damp while in your rucksack or car, although this is not a compression sack so you could definitely get a smaller pack size if put it in an actual compression sack instead.
