Our Verdict
Earplugs are fantastic in hostels and bunkhouses when you want to be up and on the trail early, unfortunately sometimes, your neighbours may not be as keen as you are to get an early start, maybe you are stuck with a snorer, or as I was once on the west highland way, an entire rugby team who are treating you to their third rendition of Delilah (True story)
But even miles away from the crowd, earplugs come in handy, especially on windy nights, in a flappy tent. So, it is always a good plan to have some packed, I keep mine in my first aid kit and forget about them till the need arises.
