Our Verdict
MSR's Thru-Link In-Line Microfilter is a great piece of kit that can keep you safe and allow you to stay hydrated when you're well away from trusted water sources. It is effective against bacteria, protozoa and particulates. The design also reduces chemicals, tastes and odours from your water which is amazing for such a lightweight, simple looking piece of kit. Weighing just 71g this is an ideal filter for weight conscious travellers who need to filter water on the go.
The in-line design provides a super versatile piece of kit that can connect drinking tubes, hydration bladders and is compatible with any hydration reservoir on the market. Once placed in the line of your favoured hydration system, it allows for a high flow so you can simply fill up your reservoir and filter as and when you need to drink. The versatility of this system is really good and if you're after an 'in-line' filter rather than a handheld one this is definitely worth serious consideration.
