Our Verdict
Gram-counter Gear's Thermo Pocket Food Pouch retain the heat from the boiling water for a good amount of time and this does speed up the re-hydration somewhat as the water is maintained at a higher temperature for a longer time. The real benefit comes in colder conditions where your food stays hotter for a lot longer with the dual benefit of the food pouch being insulated from your hands, making it easier to handle when you're eating.
At just 34g and with the fold flat design it takes up next to no room in your pack and does make things easier at meal times. I now take this on every camp where I'll be using food pouches.
