The Hyperlite Pole Jack extends trekking poles, allowing hikers to pitch Mid 1 tents without buying longer poles. It's lightweight, easy to use, and stores with tent stakes.
Hyperlite Mountain Gear says:
The Pole Jack adds additional length to a trekking pole. Ideal for backpackers whose trekking poles fall short of the recommended pitch height of the Mid 1.
The Mid 1 solo backpacking tent requires a pole length of 135 +/- 5cm for an optimal pitch. Say, however, the poles you hike with fall short of that length when maxed out. Does that mean you don't get to travel with a Mid 1? Heck no! We've got the Pole Jack here to compensate. Use it by inserting your trekking pole tip into its open end and you're golden–the extra inches you need! It's a simple, superlight solution that you can store in you tent stakes bag or stash in a hip belt pocket. Note that If you prefer to keep rubber tips on the end of your trekking poles, they'll have to be removed each time you use the Pole Jack.
Our Verdict
