The Solo Tarp from Gossamer Gear is an excellent minimalist shelter option for ultralight backpacking and camping trips. With a total weight of just 201g, including guy lines, it packs incredibly small into a 3" x 7.5" package that can easily fit in a pocket or pack.
The custom 10D high-tenacity nylon fabric with an 1800mm waterproof coating seems robust for such a lightweight material. The catenary cut ridgeline design allows for a taut-pitched setup using just two trekking poles. The tapered shape provides good coverage while maximizing the interior space-to-weight ratio.
