Our Verdict
The Sirocco helmet is one of the lightest on the market. It has a cut down minimalist design without sacrificing protection. The main body of the helmet is made from a EPP (expanded polypropylene) lateral foam and EPS (expanded polystyrene) top foam which is incredibly light and yet feels very strong. The top crown is then made from a tougher polycarbonate for increased protection. The large vents means there's plenty of air flow and therefore could be well suited to hotter climate climbing or mountaineering.
Being so light means it could also be attached to your rucksack for long approaches without much weight gain. It has a simple adjustment on the inside to make it feel snug but not much in the way of padding but this is to keep the weight down again. Being so light and containing a raised brim means it's barely noticeable when on. Headtorch clips at the back and front means it can be easily and securely attached. The webbing on the chin strap is quite thin and the low profile clip adds barely any bulk but this is again a weight saving feature.
