Adjustable and durable aluminium trekking poles that utilise a flick lock adjustment system. Hardworking poles you can afford to be a little rough with.

Leki says:

The Sherpa will keep you safe and stable on demanding mountain tours in high terrain mountains! The three-section pole is specially designed for mountaineering and is equipped with the new Aergon Air. The grip has been improved in numerous ways and has been completely redesigned in terms of comfort and control. Its special hollow core technology combines lightweight construction with large, supportive surfaces that meet all the ergonomic requirements of your hand. Maximum grip and control when going downhill is provided by the Aergon Air´s rubberized grip back. The inclined angle supports your wrist for optimal guidance and placement of the pole and contributes safety on the mountain. This stable mountaineering pole is equipped with a flex tip, allowing the Big Mountain Binding Basket to be added directly on the mountain in case of snow. Made from aluminum, the Sherpa is stable and yet weighs only 282 g, making it your trusty mountain ally!

Our Verdict

The Sherpa Trekking Poles are constructed with three durable yet lightweight aluminium sections. The poles use a lever lock to adjust the poles, which I prefer as they tend to be more secure, mainly if, like me, you use poles to put up a shelter; I find they are more stable in strong winds and can be tightened easier than twist locks.

They have nice ergonomic handles that fit naturally in the palm of the hand. The straps are perfectly functional but don’t breathe very well and have no padding. They have small trekking baskets attached, which are just about large enough to stop the poles from disappearing down small holes, as well as snow baskets for the winter months.
