Our Verdict
The Trekmates Scafell Gore-Tex Shell Gloves are versatile and highly packable waterproof gloves, perfect for unpredictable British weather. Designed to work well over thermal gloves, they’re sized generously to create a comfortable outer barrier that’s fully windproof, waterproof, and breathable. The Gore-Tex Active technology keeps hands protected from the elements while remaining breathable, which is ideal for active pursuits where moisture management is key.
The gloves feature pre-curved fingers, allowing for a more natural hand position and reducing fatigue when worn for long periods. An adjustable drawcord at the cuff and elasticated wrist help retain warmth and keep out draughts. Supplied with a handy stuff sack, these gloves pack down small, making them easy to keep on hand for changing weather conditions. Pairing these with a warm liner and insulating layer underneath would make a superb layering system for colder days in the hills.
