The OMM Rotor Hood Insulated Jacket uses standard insulation in the main body but highly breathable Active insulation an the arms and around the neck. We really it and it's warmth for weight will be good given the 80g m2 insulation in the body and full windproofing.

The Rotor Hood uses the same level of insulation as our sleeping bags in combination with Primaloft ACTIVE fleece to provide incredible comfort and warmth when you reach the overnight camp or on cold hill days.
Our Verdict
OMM's Rotor Hood Insulated Jacket incorporates 'zoning' to get the best from two types of insulation, a more traditional 80g m2 is used in the main body but Primaloft Active 125g m2 is used in the sleeves, inside the pockets and in a band around the neck area.
Active insulation breathes more than standard insulation and is soft and fleecy to the touch, its good that the pockets are one-side lined with the Active as this will feel warmer when you plunge icy hands into them.
Its a great balance between breathable insulation and standard insulation and the Active insulation will dry more quickly should it get wet, the outer shell is windproof and water resistant and there's a neat internal flap across the full length zip ensuring that this doesn't become a cold spot.
Internally there are press studs for use with OMM's sleep systems which can be clipped into the Rotor Jacket to form a minimalist sleeping bag.
We really like this jacket and it's warmth for weight will be good given the 80g m2 insulation in the body and full windproofing.
