Our Verdict
At 33g (S/M), the Buff Rain Bucket Hat is impressively light yet offers solid waterproofing thanks to bonded seams and a 5000mm rating. The fit is adjustable and secure, keeping rain from creeping in at the edges. I found it comfortable even when wet, without the chill you sometimes get from saturated fabrics. The inner mesh adds a touch of breathability, and the reflective detailing is helpful in low-light conditions. Packability is excellent, folding down small enough to tuck away until showers arrive. Quick to dry and easy to wear for long stretches, it is well-suited to hiking in changeable weather.
