Part of an extended R&D project with some of the best Alpinists in the world, this minimalist down jacket has been developed with FIRESTORM™ construction to offer maximum protection and warmth for the least possible weight and pack size. With a DRILITE® LOFT outer shell, insulation and weather resistance are optimised.
Our Verdict
At 560 g (Medium), the Xeros provides impressive warmth for its weight. High-fill goose down and the Firestorm construction give reliable insulation and weather resistance without unnecessary bulk. The Drilite Loft shell blocks wind and repels light snow effectively, keeping the jacket functional in exposed conditions.
The fit is trim but allows easy layering. The hood adjusts neatly for helmet use, and the cuffs and hem seal well against drafts. Warmth retention is excellent for static moments in sub-zero temperatures, while breathability remains fair during steady movement. Opening the front zip helps regulate heat on long ascents.
The build quality is high, with evenly filled baffles and a soft, comfortable lining. Pocket layout is practical, with hand pockets set slightly higher for use with a harness.
