Our Verdict
Montbell's Stretch O.D are a versatile pair of shorts that are well suited to hiking, walking and casual wear. The stretchy material makes them really comfortable whether you're hitting the beach, going for a gentle stroll or setting off on a multiday expedition. They are lightweight and breathable so they are comfortable even when worn for extended periods. The cut of the shorts mean that they are suitable for more strenuous hiking and are super comfortable, even in warm, technical mountainous terrain.
The shorts have a range of features to make them practical an usable. The belt loops allow greater adjustment, there are two hand pockets and a secure zip rear pocket, all pockets are mesh lined for added breathability. We found that they are slim around the waist so it's worth bearing in mind if you are at the upper end of a waist size already.
