Leki's Makalu Series Trekking Poles are the workhorse of the LEKI Trekking and Mountaineering ranges, this particular pair are a combination of folding and Lever Lock adjustment meaning they pack down to a very short 40cm length overall. They are also fitted with Anti-Shock devices which absorb the impact strike of the poles on hard ground.

Our Verdict
Leki's Makalu Series Trekking Poles are the workhorse of the LEKI Trekking and Mountaineering ranges, this particular pair are a combination of folding and Lever Lock adjustment meaning they pack down to a very short 40cm length overall - that's great for travelling.
They are also fitted with anti-shock devices, we are torn as to the benefits of anti-shock trekking poles as there doesn't seem to be much shock there in the first place, however as always LEKI have come up with a neat and robust mechanism.
The Aergon Air grip is particularly good and the foam extends down the shaft of the pole which is very useful for uphill struggles.
