Our Verdict
Lumiko Hooded Zip Tee is everything I'm looking for in a mid-layer. It's warm and stretchy, has a place where I can warm my hands, and has a hood; it ticks…almost every box for me. The fleece suits all outdoor pursuits; it is lightweight, breathable, and facilitates unrestrictive movement.
The Lumiko immediately adds a layer of warmth; the gridded-backed fleece helps trap warm air, and still, it allows moister to wick away from the skin, and if you are still getting too hot, you have a zip that can quickly vent heat.
It's a relaxed fit; I don't like technically fitted fleeces, especially if I'm using them for trekking, they can be restrictive and can ride up. The Lumiko isn't restricting; it sits nicely and doesn't bunch. The Kangaroo pouch is an excellent place to warm my hands, and I like having a hood on a mid-layer; it adds extra warmth on an evening or when you stop for a quick lunch break. It's light enough and breathes so well on chilly nights you can sleep in it and not get too sweaty. My only complaint is that it has no thumb holes, which I always like to see on a fleece.
