Our Verdict
Haglofs' LIM Hooded Down Jacket is one of the lightest weight down jackets on the market with a good warmth level form the 800 fill down and also a high level of water resistance, this is a jacket that will not let you down in multiple conditions.
The 800 fill down power offers a decent level of warmth for such a light jacket, and will certainly keep you warm in colder conditions as an outer-layer. The combination of the Pertex Quantum shell fabric which offers a good level of water resistance (with regular reproofing) meaning you don't have to panic should a you get caught up in a shower. The use of Hydro Phobic down prevents the down from permanent clumping and will eventually loft back.
I found the fit to be a bit more technical as you would expect from a jacket that can be worn as a mid and outer-layer. The more technical fit means that it is great in combination with a micro fleece and base-layer where you are on the move a lot, or with a thicker insulated layer or shell on top when belaying or more of a winter plodding day.
The Lim Hooded comes with pretty basic features that you would expect for such a lightweight jacket in this case two zipped front pockets, but lacks any adjustment in the sleeves (elasticated cuffs) or bottom of the jacket, and a simple hood.
