Our Verdict
The L.I.M Airak GTX is a technical, capable waterproof boot, weighing 263g (Medium). It firmly falls into the ultralight camp, yet still feels protective and usable thanks to the soft, quiet GORE-TEX ePE fabric and C-KNIT backer. The breathability is good for a three-layer, though I found the underarm vents essential when working harder. The fit is neat and athletic, with just enough room for a light midlayer underneath, and all the adjustability you’d expect is there without feeling overbuilt. The drop hem gives better coverage than earlier L.I.M. pieces I’ve used, and the pocket placement works cleanly with a hip belt.
