Our Verdict
The Fjällräven High Coast Pack Shorts are simple but effective, especially when the priority is staying cool and moving freely. At 190g (medium), they’re light without feeling flimsy, and the recycled fabric has a smooth finish with just enough stretch to stay comfortable through long days. I liked the 8-inch inseam—it gives decent coverage without bunching or restricting movement—and the elastic at the back of the waist helps with fit under a pack.
The hand pockets are mesh-lined, which adds a bit of airflow when things heat up. The fact that they pack down into one of the pockets is genuinely handy for travel or minimalist kits. There’s no extra storage or fuss, but that’s part of the appeal.
