Formknit Liner Gloves are lightweight, low-profile, and breathable gloves that can be used as a standalone or liner glove. They are made of a polyester polyamide blend with elastane, which provides moisture-wicking stretch.
Rab says:
Seamless liner gloves that are thin enough to be worn under outer gloves or can be used on their own. Comfortable and durable they are ideal for a variety of activities, with smartphone compatibility and a silicon palm print.
Our Verdict
Formknit Liner Gloves is a lightweight, incredibly low-profile glove designed to be incorporated into a glove layering system. Of course, on milder days, they work as stand-alone gloves, providing some insulation, and would be well suited to trail runners. The polyester polyamide blend helps to move moisture away from your hands, and the elastane provides a good amount of stretch, meaning these gloves are incredibly nimble. They have good touchscreen capabilities, and the reflective detailing means you can be seen by cars if you are night running.
The Formknit gloves are so low profile that you can easily slip another pair over the top. Layering gloves is a much better strategy than only taking one bulky pair. When starting your hike, you may not need the protection of large gloves, better suited to the extreme conditions you will find atop the mountain you intend to submit. So, having a layering system lets you tailor the insulation as you ascend.
