LYO says
Don't feel like getting up early in the morning? You will! Once you think of this porridge, it makes you try it! Gluten-free oats cooked in coconut milk, blueberries from the Polish mountains, healthy chia seeds and a tint of agave syrup to sweeten it up. To garnish it, we added some figs slices. What can be better to start your day?
We are cooking before freeze-drying. In our pouches there are no artificial additives, no extra sugar, no palm oil and no preservatives! Our meals are made from 100% natural ingredients and some of them are growing on our own fields.
Our Verdict
LYO have tried to take a different route with their meals focussing on natural, fresh ingredients and no preservatives or artificial additives. They proudly cultivate some of the fruits and herbs on their own fields. Other fruits and herbs as well as vegetables come from farmers known to them personally. All ingredients are carefully verified to ensure that their products meet the highest quality standards.
The majority of the meals use interesting combinations of natural ingredients with chunky vegetables, authentic flavours and more of a home cooked approach. We’ve been lucky enough to test a variety of them and have always been impressed with the end results. Generally, we appreciated the good combinations of flavour, texture and portion size.
The fill line for adding water to the packs is novel with a blue area from the bottom showing how much water is required. It is quite a subtle design feature that can be easy to miss and some form of internal indicator would be best but it still works.

STAFF'S TASTE TEST - The Coconut Porridge was a surprise success among our staff. The combination of ingredients was not appealing to some before the taste test but it went down well. A good balance of flavours and sweetness meant that everyone agreed this was a good breakfast option. An impressive calorie count for a pack of this size means this is a great way to start the day. |
