Black Diamond's Deploy Wind Hood Gloves are designed for those needing versatile, lightweight hand protection in cooler, windy conditions. The standout feature is the stowable wind hood, which adds an extra layer of wind and water resistance when the weather takes a turn. The lightweight fleece fabric of the main glove breathes well and wicks away moisture, making these gloves suitable for year-round training and fast-paced activities.
Touchscreen compatibility is always appreciated, allowing easy use of devices without exposing fingers to the elements. These gloves perform well solo in milder temperatures, especially with the stowable wind hood, which stashes into a small pocket on the wrist when not in use. However, the glove works well as a base layer under an insulating glove in extreme conditions. The gloves also have a wristwatch opening, so if you use a watch for navigation like me, you can use your watch unimpeded by your glove.
