'Fizan Compacts' are legendary around the office, well engineered and weight is minimised at every stage of construction. They are remarkably strong for their weight and yet are a true trekking pole.
Fizan says:
Compact, the world’s lightest telescopic pole, only 158 grams, produced in 3 sections in aluminium alloy.
Our Verdict
Fizan have been making ski and trekking poles since 1947, and were the first (apparently) to use aluminium. Basically they know a thing or two about engineering. Fizan's Compact MS Trekking Poles are identical to the Compact poles its just they are a promotional package with a free 'multi-scarf', so buy this one instead of the standard Compact Poles.
The Fizan Compact poles look very similar to other trekking poles (thickness, 3 sections, foam handle, with padded straps etc) but you can save 89-90grams over some of the lightest telescopic poles. They don't have ferrules around the jolints as their jointing mechanism is completely enclosed inside the shaft of the pole, saving on weight.
As well as baskets, Fizan include rubber feet for using on hard surfaces.
