Our Verdict
The SlingFin Cinder Cone 4 Tub Floor adds practical ground protection to the already capable pyramid shelter. Weighing just 346g, it’s made from 20D nylon ripstop with a PE coating, offering a 1800mm hydrostatic head and a reassuring level of splashback protection thanks to its 25cm tub sidewalls. It clips into the tent’s corners and stays attached for fast deployment. I like that it can be rolled halfway back and toggled in place, making it useful for wet gear storage or cooking outside the sleeping space. The drawcord opening at the centre accommodates trekking pole baskets without forcing the fabric, and stake loops let you tension it out more securely if needed. While it’s only designed for the Cinder Cone 4, it completes the setup nicely and suits everything from wet-weather backpacking to basecamp use. An adaptable, waterproof insert that brings the Cinder Cone 4P closer to a full four-season setup.
