Our Verdict
Almost a trail runner and hiking shoe hybrid, the Anacapa Breeze Mid are an updated, more breathable version of the Anacapa. They provide an unparalleled amount of cushion, making them some of the most comfortable shoes to wear mile after mile; they are great on the trail, but I can attest they are also fantastic for the dreaded road walking sections of the route. I myself have walked over 30 miles in a day, over some of the most tedious road walking Scotland has to offer in these, and I was in much better fettle than my walking companions.
The midsole is generous, as is the shoe’s sole, which is huge, and gives you maximum traction; in conjunction with the Vibram megagram, multi-directional lugs, they provide plenty of grip on all terrain.
The mid-top provides a good amount of ankle support, though a low-top version is also available if that is more suited to your walking style.
We have found the sizing to be a little questionable and recommend trying a half-size up for the best results.
These are fantastic hiking and running shoes and excel over varied terrain.
