Our Verdict
The Sambob Alpha 90 Joggers are crafted from Polartec Alpha Direct (90gsm), delivering the same high-performance thermoregulation as the hoodie—but in a pant built for ultralight comfort and versatility. Weighing just 131g (size Medium), they offer excellent warmth-to-weight, making them ideal for thru-hikers or anyone wanting a cosy layer without bulk.
These joggers shine as a midlayer under a shell in cold, active conditions, or as a standalone for cool mornings and evenings at camp. The wide fit gives extra room through the hips and thighs, making them easy to layer over base tights or wear as sleep pants. A simple 1-inch elastic waistband and soft cuffed ankles keep things secure without adding pressure points or weight.
The Alpha fabric is exceptionally breathable and quick to dry, allowing moisture to escape easily during movement. Like all Alpha Direct pieces, the open-knit structure excels at temperature regulation, but it’s fragile and should be handled with care to avoid abrasion.
