The new 49" Carbon Fibre Poles are ideal for supporting Six Moon Designs Tents, Tarps and NetTents. The new, shorter pole sections make the packsize much smaller.
Six Moon Designs says
If you're a cyclist, paddler or don't carry trekking poles, you may wish to consider using our carbon fiber poles to support your shelter. These poles are extremely strong1. They are stronger than aluminum yet weigh less. Custom made by Easton Mountain Products, these Carbon Fiber poles will not shatter even in the strongest winds. The 5 section poles pack down even smaller than the original carbon fiber Easton poles with 11" sections.
Some shelters require two poles for setup; be sure to review the setup before purchasing.
Note: Carbon Fiber poles do have built-in flexibility. When setting up your shelter, you want to tighten the canopy just to the point where the poles create a slight bend. Then back off until vertical. This is more than enough tension to keep your shelter erect, even with high wind loads.
Our Verdict
Six Moon Design's 49" 5 Section Carbon Fiber Tent Pole improves the packsize by making it even smaller. If you're a cyclist, paddler or hiker who doesn't carry trekking poles, you may wish to consider using these poles to support your Six Moon Designs shelter during your trip. Not all tents come with the supporting poles so it's always best to check if you need to buy one or use an alternative. Other than using your own walking poles, you can use these new 5 section poles.
Carbon Fibre poles are much stronger than aluminum yet weigh less. Made from carbon fiber and wrapped in fiberglass, the poles will not shatter even in the strongest winds.
