A back pad, that provides additional airflow as well as doubling as a sit pad, for use with the 2024 range of Gossamer Gear packs.
Gossamer Gear says:
Designed specifically to be used in the pad pocket of any of our overnight backpacking backpacks. This multi-use featherlight pad will give structure to your pack, cushion your back and allow some air to circulate between you and the pack while keeping the pack body close to you. The SitLight can also be used to sit on in camp or during breaks, to lengthen your existing sleep pad or as a base for your pillow.
The foam is amazingly light and strong for its density. The pads are tough, flexible and resilient, and exhibit good UV stability. As a closed-cell foam they will not absorb water.
These are only compatible with our new Mariposa 60 and Gorilla 50 PVT packs. For your small size pack, you will need the 17" size. For your medium size pack, you will need the 19" size. For the large size pack, you will need the 21" size.
Our Verdict
The Sit pad, designed for use with Gossamer Gears' new 2024 range of ultralight packs, (If you're uncertain about which version you have, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team for clarification.) including the "Mariposa 60," "Gorilla 50," and "Kumo 36," replaces the original removable foam backpack that comes with Gossamer Gear packs. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, the Sit pad provides more support and airflow between the user and the pack, resulting in a more comfortable experience. Additionally, it can be used in a sleep system with a sleeping pad to provide extra insulation from the ground. Gossamer Gear states that the pads are 2 cm thick, although we find them to be closer to 1 cm thick, which is still sufficient for comfort.
