UOG TOP PICK - Fizan Compact Trekking Poles - Lightness and value - We've singled out Fizan's Compact Trekking Poles as one of our top recommendations because they are well engineered and minimise weight by saving on external fittings. They are remarkably strong for their weight and are a true trekking pole.
Fizan says: The lightest trekking pole in the world! Sold as a pair.
Our Verdict
Fizan have been making ski and trekking poles since 1947, and were the first (apparently) to use aluminium. Basically they know a thing or two about engineering.
The Fizan Compact poles look very similar to other trekking poles (thickness, 3 sections, foam handle with padded straps etc) but you can save 80-90g over even the lightest carbon models.
They don`t have ferrules around the joints as their jointing mechanism is completely enclosed inside the shaft of the pole, saving on weight.
As well as baskets, Fizan include rubber feet for using on hard surfaces.
