The PointZero fabric is windproof and has a DWR (Durable Water Repellancy treatment), improving its weather protection and stain resistance. The PointZero fabric has an incredibly low pack size and so folds up into its own collar. The Sonic Jacket is the half zip version of the Sonic series. Our Verdict
OMM's Sonic Smock is an ideal piece of kit to take out for any run or walk where you don't want to have to take a pack or extra layers. The fabric is super thin and lightweight but still surprisingly durable. It isn't an insulating piece and provides little warmth but the point is to protect you from the wind which it does perfectly.
The design benefits from not having a hood which spends more time flapping in the wind than providing protection when you're working hard in the hills anyway. The collar acts as the stuff pocket for this top so it packs down to an amazingly small size which fits easily in any pocket.
