Self-heating outdoor cooker lets you do away with the bulk and weight of a stove in place of a reusable sealable bag (31g) and a small heating element (50g)

The Adventure Nutrition Self Heating Outdoor Cooker is an innovative cooking solution that requires no flames or ignition. The design is similar to a military self heating ration pack but can be used to heat up any freeze dried or ready to eat meal package. It will even heat up a bottle of water to just about tea making temperature. The system is very lightweight at just 31g and each heating element is 50g. The cooker rolls up so all in its much lighter and smaller than a stove and pot. The cooker itself is a reusable sealable bag lined with heat reflective material. Into this you place an aluminium heating sachet, add 40ml of water along with your meal. Seal the cooker and leave for about 8 to 10 minutes. The system is ideal for wild camping in poor conditions as it is much safer to use in a well ventilated tent than a stove. If you are camping in an area prone to wild fires you may also want to take this instead of a stove.
Our Verdict
This is a really good setup if you keep weight and bulk to a minimum and have a set amount of meals you wish to cook. This Self self-heating cooker System from Adventure Nutrition works like how old army ration punches used to heat up. It requires no stove or flame, just the re-sealable, reusable bag and one aluminium heating sachet per meal. Add 60ml of water, the sachet and the meal of choice into the resealable bag and leave for about 10 minutes.
If you are making a dehydrated meal, add cold water to the meal and let it fully hydrate before cooking. Steam will escape from a small valve, so always use this in a well-ventilated space and never use this inside a tent, especially a small one or two-person tent.
