You can put on the Rain Wrap without taking off your pack, and it’s easy to remove once the rain stops. The Rain Wrap has tie-out loops so you can also use it as a small tarp or ground cloth. When you’re not wearing the Rain Wrap, it packs down tiny and will fit just about anywhere so you can reach it at a moment’s notice.

The Enlightened Equipment Rain Wrap provides a simple yet incredibly functional ultralight solution to keeping your lower half dry when the rain sets in. Made from waterproof 15D silnylon, this minimalist rain kilt delivers dependable wet weather protection while adding minimal weight and bulk to your pack.
Rain kilts are superior to waterproof trousers in two significant ways: they are much quicker to deploy and put on, and they are much more breathable and comfortable. The Rain Wrap isn't going to replace your overtrousers, especially on exposed spots and summits, as, inevitably, they will not handle wind as well. However, a rain kilt is a much nicer option on warm days in the woods or lower down in the valley than sweaty overtrousers.
The Rain Wrap is secured with a shock cord around the waist and fastened with two snap closure buttons. These buttons run down the length of the kilt and can be tailored to allow additional venting and increased freedom of movement.
