Our Verdict
A full wind and waterproof jacket, designed for when you’re moving fast in the hills. Made from GORE-TEX Active 3 layer, this jacket offers serious protection, with a much higher level of breathability, at an incredibly low weight.
A snug-fitting hood with a fast operating elastic adjustment system, this hood is an excellent fit and can snuggly fit underneath a helmet if required, it doesn’t offer much in the way of drawstring adjustment, but is an excellent fit regardless.
Quite a slim or active fit, I used a thin base layer and thin fleece underneath and found it to be a very good fit, if a little snug, I tried the medium, however, I will go large when I take this jacket out again. I wouldn’t feel this would be a good match with a “puffy” as it could be a little too constrictive, however, I feel this jacket is best used as more of a 3 season shell and isn’t designed to accommodate multiple thick layers.
The 2 side pockets are of substantial size, and can easily accommodate a map, they are mesh-backed, which improves breathability and allows moisture to escape. L.I.M stands for “less is more”, so no Velcro straps or adjustable drawstrings around the hem, instead they have opted for elastic cuffs and hem, for an improved fit, which I think works well on a jacket such as this. This is now my go-to jacket for any multi-day backpacking trip.
