Our Verdict
At just 62g (medium), the Montane Jetstream 7in Short Tights feel like they’re barely there, but they deliver where it counts. The AEROFLYTE fabric stretches naturally with the body and dries fast, which I’ve found especially useful on steep, sweaty climbs. The fit is snug without feeling restrictive, and the low-profile waistband and ultrasonic seams make for a clean finish with no rubbing or bulk, even under a running vest.
Silicone grippers at the hem keep everything in place, and they’ve held well without pinching or riding up. The external thigh pocket is compact but handy—ideal for stashing a phone. I’ve worn them comfortably on their own in hot conditions, but they also layer well under a pair of shorts if you prefer more coverage.
