Our Verdict
The Elite snowshoe from Northern Lites delivers outstanding lightweight performance in an all-terrain 25" size. Weighing just 626g per shoe, these are easily among the lightest 25" snowshoes available, shedding about half the weight of typical all-terrain models.
The secret is Northern Lites' use of ultralight 7075 aluminium frames and demanding but feathery Coolthane decking. This allows the large 8x25" footprint while keeping weight to an absolute minimum. The 19 aluminium crampons plus 38 perimeter deck clips provide plenty of traction on slopes and off-trail.
Despite their delicate weight, the bindings and decks are designed to be durable and handle up to 180 lbs. Their large size makes them capable of hiking, camping, training, or even ultralight racing over most terrain and snow conditions.
