Our Verdict
The Hoka 2024 Kaha 2 Low GTX stands out for its exceptional weight-to-cushion ratio, offering both comfort and performance on the trail. The updated design, featuring a HUBBLE® heel with SwallowTail™ geometry, ensures stability and support on uneven terrain. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole with Traction Lug provides excellent ground contact and grip, making it suitable for various trail conditions.
The Kaha 2 Low GTX incorporates GORE-TEX footwear fabric with recycled materials. The leather is waterproof and Gold-rated by the Leather Working Group, adding durability and premium quality. The dual-density CMEVA midsole, late-stage MetaRocker™, and molded PU sockliner contribute to a plush, responsive feel, reducing fatigue during long hikes.
The Kaha 2 Low GTX also features a waterproof membrane bootie construction and PFC-free water repellency treatment, keeping feet dry in wet conditions. Weighing 470g per UK8 shoe with an 8mm heel-to-toe drop, it balances lightweight design and robust performance. Despite its unique style, especially the sole, the shoe's support and comfort make it ideal for long days and multi-day trips.
The Gore-Tex waterproof lining ensures your feet stay dry in various conditions, from challenging terrain to adverse weather. This model is likely the most weatherproof in Hoka's range, thanks to its full leather upper and high ankle coverage. The Vibram Megagrip provides excellent traction on wet and dry surfaces. At the same time, the multidirectional lugs offer additional stability and traction when needed—the varied foam in the sole balances cushioning and responsiveness.
