The SS22 Dart T-Shirt range uses 100% APEX ECO (a recycled polyester). To create this fabric, plastic bottles are cleaned, before being chopped and flaked into small pieces, and melted to produce plastic pellets. These pellets are then melted and extruded into yarns; picture melted plastic being pushed through a shower head. Finally, these yarns are dyed to add the colour, and knitted into the Dart base layer fabric. By using recycled plastic bottles in this way, the reliance on finite, unsustainable materials such as oil is reduced, whilst simultaneously helping to reduce plastic waste. A size 10 womens Dart T-Shirt uses 6 plastic bottles, while a size medium mens Dart T-Shirt uses 7 plastic bottles. The overall impact of the SS22 Dart range has saved approximately 532,000 plastic bottles going to landfill. The Dart T Shirt comes in a range of colours, and is treated with Polygiene, a permanent and Bluesign approved odour control treatment for multi-day freshness.
