Our Verdict
Ultimate Direction's Womens Adventure Vesta 5.0 is an awesome pack. The cinch adjuster is ideal for quickly and easily tightening or loosening the vest with a simple pull of cords or push of a button. Adjustments on the fly allow you to stay focused on running while maintaining the comfort as the pack changes weight and shape as you use kit. The highly breathable mesh back increases comfort and allows sweat to move away from the body while the new stretch mesh material is softer, stretchier and lighter. Add into the mix the emergency whistle attached to every pack, two 500ml soft flasks that are included, the numerous range of drop, Velcro closure and zip pockets not to mention compression options make this is a seriously impressive package.
This pack is made for big events. It will suit runners competing in multi-day, winter and 100+ mile events. When you need to pack plenty of gear or mandatory kit lists are extended past the usual ultra distance requirements this pack is great for that. Hydration and storage options become more important for events like these and this pack has been great for the overnight and multi-day events I've used it for.
